Title: [Star Tear] Constellations On Her Cheek
Dimensions: approx. 12 cm / 4.7 inches wooden circle diameter
Mixed media: paperclay, merino wool, Japanese paper. She is painted with acrylics, soft pastels and colored pencils, and sealed with matte and gloss varnish.
Pathology report:
A condition arising from unrequited love, in which the patient sheds star-shaped tears accompanied by a crystalline or musical sound. The disease progresses from mild visual disturbance to severe ocular and memory impairment.
Symptoms include:
Watery eyes producing glowing particles; shedding of luminous, star-like tears
Irritation, dryness, blurred sight and gradual onset of colorblindness
Sensation of grit or pressure in the eyes
Progressive vision and memory loss in advanced cases
Clinical manifestation:
Star-shaped tears emerge from the ducts in place of normal fluid, often accompanied by a musical sound, such as crystal or harp. Continued progression leads to color perception decline, visual loss, and in some cases, deterioration of memory. The condition may only be cured through reciprocation of the patient’s affection, which halts symptoms and restores normal tear production.
