Title: Armor
Medium: Oil on gessoed cardboard
Size: 32 × 37 cm, including the frame
"Armor explores the subtle tension between vulnerability and protection. A female figure emerges from the darkness, revealed only partially by a soft, directional light that grazes her face, hands, and body. Black envelops the scene like a mental space, erasing any external reference and transforming the figure into an intimate, almost archetypal presence.
The armor becomes an ambiguous metaphor: a structure built to protect, but also a surface behind which something more fragile can remain hidden. Between shadow and light, the body does not fully surrender itself to the viewer’s gaze, but rather controls access to it. Armor speaks of boundaries, silence, and self-protection, suggesting that sometimes what protects us is also what prevents us from being fully seen."
