"The mystical or alchemical wedding symbolizes the sacred and indissoluble union of opposites, male and female, sun and moon. On a profound level, it signifies the fusion of masculine and feminine, conscious and unconscious, body and spirit, leading to the creation of a new, integrated being and spiritual fulfillment. My diptych was inspired by an image from the Rosarium Philosophorum, a 13th-century alchemical text, traditionally attributed to Arnaldus of Villanova, a famous physician and alchemist of his time."
