I love the composition of this painting, and the delicacy of the Courtesan. Her hands are so beautiful and so self-protective. She grips the curtain beside her as if she'd like to hide, even though she's extravagantly dressed and her hair is expertly crafted. There's something very wistful about this pearl. Almost dreamlike!
