Title: The Bear and the Bees
Size: 65 x 45 cm (4.5cm deep) / 25.5 x 17.1 inches
Medium: Acrylic on gallery wrapped canvas
Inspired by the fable 'The Bear and the Bees', this painting tells a story of the importance of mother nature and our innate connection to it. In the original fable, a bear ends up destroying a beehive and becoming badly stung in the process in his search for honey. He did not learn after one sting, rather he became angry and destroyed the hive and got attacked by the bess as a consequence. In this painting, the bear has discovered that everything he takes from nature has an effect on him and everyone who lives on planet Earth, and so he is giving back to the bees by rebuilding their home and respecting their place in the forest. By working with our fellow earthlings, we can create all the abundance we need on earth.
