"This work pays tribute to women persecuted for their knowledge and accused of witchcraft, reclaiming their legacy while confronting historical injustice.
The antique triptych, restored by the artist, recalls European altarpieces and situates the scene within a symbolic, almost sacred space. At its center, a young meiga, a figure from Galician tradition, embodies the transmission of knowledge and the possibility of an open future. Flanking her, animal figures act as guardians of the intuitive and the unknown.
The fire risig from her hair evokes inquisitorial bonfires, yet transforms into light, a symbol of memory, resilience, and enduring knowledge.
The use of airbrush establishes a dialogue between contemporary technique and ancestral image-making"
