"Recently a remarkable cache of portraits and correspondence exchanged among a group of Fae was discovered. They seemed to have engaged in an effort to replicate the human experience. Just as humans dream of being fairy‑like, these fae seem fascinated by trying to be human, even commissioning portraits in deliberate imitation of human cultural practices.
This Fae's name was Heristone. A Fae of the Upper Realms, she was entrusted with the quiet work of spreading energy from spring’s first bloom and sharing the soft wisdom of autumn’s falling leaves. Yet, her heart longed to be as carefree as humans, to wander untroubled along the river on a fine day."
