"During the Sacred Wedding ceremony, the old and young stags face off in a ritual that consecrates the victor. In my painting, I have depicted the virgin priestess Morgana riding the victorious young stag (King Arthur) in a symbolic union that will give birth to the future king. In the sacred forest, pagan symbols of protection, birth, journey, and magic provide a fitting setting for this event."
