Title: When the Crow Sings
Medium: Acrylic on canvas
Size: 12x9 inches
This piece is based on Aesop's fable "The Fox and the Crow". A fox sees a crow with a piece of cheese in its mouth and the fox wants that cheese. He flatters the crow by telling her how beautiful and glossy she is, how he's heard that the crow has the most beautiful singing voice in the world and what an honor it would be to hear it for himself. The crow is overcome by all the flattery, and opens her mouth to sing for the fox-which means, of course, that she drops her cheese and the fox snatches it up. The moral is "Don't Trust Flatterers".
