"The idea came to me one day as I watched my sister with her butterflies. She has a mariposario where she lovingly breeds them, and she also has the cutest little chihuahua. To me, my sister is a queen. A strong one. That is why this painting portrays a queen seated on her throne, wearing a ruffled gown, surrounded by her butterflies, with her loyal chihuahua by her side “Monarca” is my tribute to her strength, her independence, and the powerful spirit I see in her every day."
